This project involved the fitting out of what was previously the ground floor of an office space known as “The Whitehouse”, and re-fitting it into a Doctors’ practice.  The interior was gutted to allow for the space to be reconfigured for multiple medical consultation rooms, staff  facilities, and a new entrance to the building including disabled access.  Working to a tight deadline, the Site Manager had to carefully co-ordinate sub-contractors in order to successfully complete the project by the due date.  Challenges included contending with the extensive existing services in the roof cavity, overcoming some asbestos discovered during demolition, and controlling noise issues as the floor above was fully occupied.  Keeping the architectural intent of the original building while meeting the requirements of the tenant and client were also successfully achieved by the Alexander team.
