Ocean View Apartments is a 5 story, 37 unit development on the beachfront of Tahunanui in Nelson. The development is unit titled, and features a range of 1-3 bedroom apartments, four three bedroom penthouse units at the top floor, plus resort style landscaping facilities including three pools, a spa and a gym.

With over 80,000 man-hours in carpentry and up to 100 Scott Construction staff and subcontractors on site at the height of construction we are pleased to report that the project was completed with an excellent health and safety record.

The success of Ocean View Apartments in the relatively small centre of Nelson has been a team effort across the entire local industry, drawing on a significant majority of the available resources as well as contractors drawn in from Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.

The project was delivered through a lengthy pre-construction ECI phase with key design and build sub contractors involved. It was priced in an open book manner then taken over as a design and build contract to enable cost control and innovation to continue throughout the build phase. Oceanview Apartments was delivered to a very high standard for a low rate per square meter, in a massive collaboration across the whole of the Nelson industry.

This project won a Gold Award in the Residential Category at the 2022 Master Builder’s NZ Commercial Project Awards.
