Scott Construction New Zealand has been part of the Construction Alliance since 2020.

2. What’s the biggest benefit you’ve gained from being in the Alliance?
The biggest benefit has been the support and strength in numbers. The shared knowledge and collaborative learning within the group are invaluable. Being surrounded by like-minded people you can trust to rely on for information and appropriate resources makes a real difference. Having the backing of such capable members allows Scotts to perform at its best.

3. How has collaboration within the Alliance improved Scott Construction New Zealand?
Collaboration has strengthened project connections, created efficiencies, and delivered cost savings through collective buying power. It has also fostered a culture of knowledge sharing, where members can safely exchange ideas, experiences, and lessons learned — building a stronger, more supportive environment for everyone involved.

4. How has being part of the Alliance helped your team grow professionally?
The Alliance has provided valuable support and opportunities for professional growth, particularly in areas like Health & Safety, where a varied and experienced group works together to raise standards. On a personal level, having other directors as a trusted support network has been instrumental in navigating challenges within the construction industry.

5. What’s one memorable moment you’ve had with the Alliance?
The Nelson NZCA Conference stood out. It was a great time for everyone and a perfect example of the camaraderie within the group. Another highlight was the Callaghan Innovation event hosted by NZ Construction Alliance Ltd (NZCA), which showcased the innovation and forward-thinking that drives the Alliance.

6. What’s one word you’d use to describe the Alliance experience?
Supportive (also Positive and Collaborative fit well.
