HE WAKA EKE NOA - "we're all in this together".

"He waka eke noa" translates to "we're all in this together". It is the Whakataukī we used to highlight a journey when everyone is paddling in the same direction to achieve the dreams and

aspirations of a project. After a year of projects being stalled, Kāinga Ora has returned to the market with a series of lower-spec’d projects bundled into regional groupings to be delivered under their HDS system. We suspect that this will be a short term initiative, with government still planning to move most social housing development to the Community Housing Providers (CHP’s).

We believed that this was apt for the MSD & NZCA journey together for their Service Centre of the Future programme.

To recognise this journey, NZCA gifted a waka with He waka eke noa engraved on the vessel. To further personalise this, we had representatives from each of the NZCA partners signing the base, which was presented to MSD by NZCA Chairman Leonard Gardner during their recent close-out meeting in Wellington.

After five years of hard mahi – this was exceptionally well received by the MSD team and is proudly displayed in their Wellingtonhead office. Thanks again to all of you for contributing to the success of this project.
