Christmas Message from our CEO
Merry Christmas everyone. We've made it to the end of another great year for NZCA.
One of the highlights of the year is again the MSD project which is nearing completion. We've collectively done over 200 individual projects at 120 sites over the past 5 years and you should all be very proud of what we have achieved. In the last 4 months alone, we've successfully upgraded 35 locations. No one else can do this!
This highlights just what a special organisation you're part of. We're unique in our ability to service clients across NZ. We've learned a lot through the MSD's Service Centre of the Future project (SCF), and there's a growing recognition that projects go better when you have experienced teams, and you embrace a learning culture.
I think you'd all agree that we got better throughout the SCF project, but you may not know that MSD came in under budget for the client. They could also significantly reduce the size of their internal team because they could rely on us, and be more efficient with their own processes. It's a great lesson in how big projects should be done.
Speaking of which, I'm recommending 'How Big Things Get Done' by Bent Flyvbjerg and Dan Gardner for your summer reading - which a high level book review in this newsletter. This book is gaining traction in the NZ Government Procurement Circles, as well as corporates like Meridian. Perfect for reading on those long summer afternoons by the beach.
Thank you to everyone that's been a part of NZCA in 2024. We think you're awesome. Have a great break, and see you in 2025!
Best regards, Warren
