With an 18-month timeframe for completion, the BUPA St Andrews project was an ambitious undertaking. The complex included a 40-bed care home, 62 apartments, basement carparking and ground works. The project was tendered, however, non-price attributes were also important to BUPA and Fosters offered a brand of honesty and flexibility which the client appreciated. 

The project was not without its complications, with a stream of running water forming in the basement carpark being one example. In addition, scope changes, including acoustic and finish upgrades, were made partway through the project. These were accommodated by the team, who understood that the client required a quality product above all else.

Communication was a key element of the project and the team considered neighbouring properties at all stages to ensure they were disrupted as little as possible by construction activities.

The client was impressed with the capabilities of the project team and in their ability to balance the requirement for meeting deadlines with the pursuit of a high quality product. Both these objectives were exceeded and the client and residents could not have been happier with the result.
